Junction
The heart of this concept is a die cast junction fitting 2-3/4" across that can join up to 8 grid members using formed steel locking clips.

Grid
Grid members are extruded aluminum with 1-1/8" face and 3/16" thick edges. All are prefabricated to fit between junction hubs and attach to locking clips.

Suspension
Standard ceiling hanger wire is used to suspend the dome assembly from the plenum structure above.

Dimensions
Dome 8 forms a concave shape with each additional ring increasing the diameter and the depth. Standard designs are from 6' diameter 2 ring to 17' diameter 6 ring. Dimensions of all the standard designs are shown.

Diffusers
The standard luminous diffuser is #S80A, .080" white translucent acrylic. A simulated wire glass pattern on the diffusers is a standard option. Many colors of translucent or opaque acrylic and even polished metal, fabric, wood veneer and acoustical panels are available.

Lighting
Standard open tube fluorescent fixtures, either strip or reflector style, are used in the plenum above the ceiling system. Care in the plenum and lamp center design should be taken to assure even illumination on the diffuser surface. Decorative incandescent medium base lamps, up to 75 watts each, can be placed at any grid junction member in #F-1 socket assembly.

Sprinklers
Sprinkler heads may be placed at any grid junction member.

Custom
Dome 8 is a very flexible design concept and can easily be executed in flat or convex shapes, larger diffuser elements and much larger diameters. We would like to explore your ideas with you.

Concave-Convex-Flat
Our Dome 8 and T8 Tent designs were conceived as concave designs. The 8 Way fitting allows the grid members to meet at any angle so that both convex and flat designs can easily be produced. Call us for details on these designs or any special application.

Skylite Depth
The depth of the Dome 8 design is a function of the diameter. The fluorescent lamps should be at least 9" above the skylight. Exact dimensions are shown.
