Concept
Prefabricated extruded aluminum or wood components form a linear skylite design in a "slope" or "tent" shape.
Structure Factory notched perimeter members accept cross struts to frame openings in a continuous pattern. Where the "tent" design is used a center 'beam' is furnished. Module The module is formed by the cross struts which can be 6" o.c., 8" o.c., 12" o.c., 24" o.c. and 36" o.c. Skylite Width & Depth For the "slope" design, the width can be as narrow as 12" and as wide as 72". The "tent" design can be as narrow as 24" and as wide as 144". See charts on left for details. The depth of the "slope" and "tent" design is a function of the angle and width. The lamps should be at least 6" above the skylite. Angle To provide a variety of architectural feelings the angle of the struts can vary from 0° to 45°. Standards include 0° (flat), and 45° but any angle is easily produced. |
Corners
Herringbone corners are available in any angle.
Diffusers The standard luminous diffuser is #S80A, .080" white translucent acrylic. A simulated wire glass pattern on the diffusers is a standard option. Many colors of translucent or opaque acrylic and even polished metal, fabric, wood veneer and acoustical panels are available. Finish The standard metal finishes are White, Bronze, Black and Silver Satin Polene. Special polene painted colors are available. Real wood veneer with clear lacquer finish also available. Lighting Standard open tube fluorescent fixtures, either strip or reflector style, are used in the plenum above the ceiling system. Care in the plenum and lamp center design should be taken to assure even illumination on the diffuser surface. Perimeter Consult factory. |
