Concept
The Pyramid Skylites are prefabricated of extruded aluminum members and welded corner sections. Translucent white acrylic diffusers, backlit from above with fluorescent light fixtures in the plenum, provide a lighting system in beautiful natural skylite designs.
Size
There is no limit to the size of our skylites, starting as small as 4'. Some typical examples are shown. Diffusers
The standard luminous diffuser is #S80A, .080" white translucent acrylic. A simulated wire glass pattern on the diffusers is a standard option. Many colors of translucent or opaque acrylic and even polished metal, fabric, wood veneer and acoustical panels are available. Finish
The standard grid finishes are White, Bronze, Black and Silver Satin Polene. Special polene painted colors are available. Real wood veneer with clear lacquer finish also available. |
Lighting
Standard open tube fluorescent fixtures, either strip or reflector style, are used in the plenum above the ceiling system. Care in the plenum and lamp center design should be taken to assure even illumination on the diffuser surface.
Skylite Depth
The Pyramid Skylight design is based on a 17-1/2° angle so that the depth of the pyramid is a function of the width. For a 6' width, the skylight depth is 12". Each 2' increase in the width increases the depth by 4". For example an 8' width is 16" deep, a 12' width is 24" deep, etc. The lamps should be at least 6" above the skylight. Perimeter
