Solid Wood Products
Norton Industries uses FLAMEX PF as a post-treatment indoor fire
retardant. When used on wood, it provides a Class A rating. Flamex PF
penetrates wood and becomes part of its molecular structure. When the
treated material is subjected to an open flame, the retardant will
pyrolytically reduce the flames spread on wood and self-extinguish the
flame if treated properly. It is non-toxic and non-hazardous to the
environment and simple to apply.

MDF Core Wood Veneer Panels
Norton Industries uses VESTA as the core which is no added
urea-formaldehyde resin MDF and a UL approved, Class A/Class 1
fire-rated panel. Earth-friendly veneer applied reduces the harvest of both
common and exotic woods. The milling process of veneer, in and of itself,
reduces waste. Wood timber, typically sawn into 1" thick boards with
kerfs between boards 1/16" to 1/4" thick, wind up as sawdust. Veneer
is not cut but sliced from the log with a knife into leaves or sheets that
produce 42 veneer surfaces for every one that is gotten from a board
with no wasted wood. Most existing building codes provide that face
veneers 1/28" or thinner are not considered in determining the flame
spread rating of the panel.

Norton Industries Wood Ceiling and Wall Systems require no more
maintenance than painted drywall ceilings. However, when maintenance
is necessary, certain procedures should be followed to ensure continued
high performance and attractive appearance.
